The Sawmill Café at Mapperton, open from early spring till the end of September, is now managed by Eggardon Kitchen of Nettlecombe. Delicious lunches and teas are served daily (except Saturday) from 11am to 5pm made with fresh local ingredients. Or enjoy a quiet cup of tea with cream and scones and delicious home made cakes.
The café is licensed and offers a selection of wines, beers and cider. There is plenty of space to sit under the Shamiana, a wedding hanging made in India with peacocks, parrots and other traditional symbols. Otherwise you are welcome to sit outside and watch the resident cockerels, chickens, ducks and doves.
The café is also available for hire for private functions or evening parties all year round. Families with children are welcome and there is easy access and toilet facilities for wheelchairs.
